Keith Max Jackson (October 18, 1928 – January 12, 2018) ... On April 24, 1995, he was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame, having won its National Sportscaster of the Year five successive times. Keith Jackson will be forever remembered for his outstanding career at Oklahoma prior to nine seasons in the NFL. Keith Jackson was a key blocker and prime receiver at tight end for Oklahoma 1984-87.
He was unanimous All-America in 1986 and 1987.
Imitations abound, but there is only one Keith Jackson. Jackson finally retired after the 2006 Rose Bowl and is a member of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
His career totals showed 62 pass receptions for 1470 yards, an average of 23.7. “It was always fun to be in Keith’s presence in a college-football town the night or two before the game,” says former ABC Sports producer/director Doug Wilson, “especially when you were up in the Northwest, where he went to college.
