my sons father hasnt made any attempt to contact me to see our son. he hasn't seen him since he was 4 months old.
I have had many, many parents who were married and not even going through a separation and either parent can sign the birth certificate in that case.
Anyway my question is can I still put him on the birth certificate if he refuses. The father of my child refused to sign the birth certificate, what rights does he have as far as visitiation and being a parent? 1.
Get to court and file for full custody - if he doesn't show up in court, the judge will probably grant in your favor.
If it is not and you were listed as the child's father there are ways to have that changed. I know he needs to be there but suspect he won't want to come. You can ask for a DNA paternity test to verify the child is yours or not.
2. if he is named on the birth certificate (for which he will need to attend the registrar with you) he will have equal rights over the child and have parental responsibility. Okay I am a father and I have a new little on on the way. No permission required by you. I am sure there are some of you that have successfully done this, I need to learn how. What happens if the father wont sign the birth certificate I want the father of my kids to pay his child support! ... be aware and don't sign things you don't understand either. My daughter deserves to know her real dad even if hes acting like she doesn't exist. A father can't be named on the birth certificate unless both parents sign a declaration of paternity and their signatures are witnessed by a hospital official or notary public. The mother can list the father of the child on the birth certificate if she knows the name of the father. we were never married. The court can order a DNA test, and if he refuses he will probably be named the father by default. Yes, you can still obtain child support even if he refuses to sign the birth certificate.. You would need to initiate a child support request with your local family law courthouse, and then establish paternity, and you would still be awarded child support, even despite his refusal to sign the birth certificate.. I have recently seen the light and am making a serious exodus. We have twins on the way (seperated 8 weeks along) but no contact from him since he walked...what happens if he refuses to sign the birth cert? You are married. Any rights??
i … He refused to sign the birth certificate … Of course he has rights - he's the father, whether he signed the birth certificate or not. ... My question is this...How does one refuse a birth certificate. He works full time (NOT cash in hand...on the books) has two other kids and has a private CS agreement with that mum. And I know there is a form he can complete but he probably won't cooperate with that either. Father refused to sign birth certificate and hasn't seen the child or made contact to see the child in 4 months? 3.
